Program Aim
- Prepare sonography professionals to serve in the hospitals, clinics and community health care services of Queensland and Australia.
- Educate sonography professionals to contribute to caring and cost effective health care, to initiate improvements and collaborate in inter-disciplinary teams.
- Challenge and equip students to be critical and independent learners, experienced in evidence-based practice and collaborative problem solving in inter-cultural health care.
- Educate students to critically evaluate and apply research as they create a stimulating and supportive professional environment.
- Provide an intellectually challenging education in sonography to enable graduates to make a positive contribution to health and social fabric of Australian society.
- Provide a rigorous intellectual climate that encourages the promotion and use of advanced imaging technologies, assisting in the remediation of disease.
- Enable sonographers to make a lifetime contribution to knowledge and understanding in medical imaging in national and international settings.
- Create a centre of excellence in teaching and learning, scholarship and community service in health sciences and imaging in Central Queensland and beyond.
