About Research Higher Degrees

A research higher degree is a program of supervised research and study leading to the preparation of a thesis.  The holder of a research higher degree will have submitted a thesis that has made a significant original contribution to the knowledge of a subject area by a substantial contribution to knowledge in the form of new knowledge through discovery or in an original application of existing knowledge by the exercise of independent critical thinking.

Research is an integral component of CQUniversity's purpose.  There is a strong commitment to the conduct of cutting-edge research in new areas which challenge the boundaries of the traditional disciplines to provide distinctive research opportunities and solutions for staff, candidates and sponsors.

The Associate Dean (Research and Innovatoin) is responsible for the management of the Faculty's research portfolio by planning and monitoring the Fauclty's directions and activities in research and postgraduate research training.
