Program Aim
The Bachelor of Learning Management (Secondary and VET) is a pre-service preparation program for teaching and other professionals in which knowledge of learning and how to facilitate learning is required in the classroom and the workplace. Teaching oriented graduates will be qualified for registration as teachers in Queensland.
The Bachelor of Learning Management (Secondary and VET) is designed to provide students with a knowledge and understanding of:
- theories and practices appropriate for the management of learning in the emergent education industry and in the training sector;
- theories and practices appropriate for teaching in the changing environments of secondary schools and training sectors;
- the professional work of teachers and teaching no matter where they are located, including the socio-ethical, legal and security issues in such settings;
- teaching and learning work in a range of operational and management positions within the education and training sectors;
- the diagnosis, analysis, design and planning, implementation, management and evaluation of learning programs at all levels, including effective teaching and learning strategies, curriculum construction and assessment/evaluation procedures; and
- effective communication with other professionals and the wider community on learning matters.
Program Structure
The program consists of 32 courses to the value of 6 units of credit each.
Applicants with a trade or qualification to AQF Level 3 may be eligible for advanced standing into this program. These students may be required to attend a residential workshop on the Rockhampton Campus during Orientation Week in the year of commencement.
Credit is considered and approved on a case-by-case basis.
