Entry Requirements

Applications can be registered nurses or/ registered midwives seeking to update their knowledge and skills or/ midwives seeking to re register as a midwife.

 

Note: Students wishing a Return to Practice (Refresher) program would enrol in the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery (CG33) and ask for Recognition of Prior Learning into the program

Professional Accreditation

Graduates are accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia to practice as a midwife.

Residential School

For students continuing from Term 1, 2010

  1. Third Residential - commencing - 0900 hours 21st - 25th February 2011 - Mackay Campus.

For students commencing in Term 1, 2011:

  1. First Residential - 2011 commencing - 0900 hours 14th - 18th February - Mackay Campus.
  2. Second Residential - 2011 commencing - 0900 hours 27th June - 1st July - Mackay Campus.
  3. Third Residential - commencing - 20th - 24th February 2012 - Mackay Campus.

For students with RPL/Return to Practice Midwives  commencing in Term 1, 2011:

  1. First Residential - 2011 commencing 0900 hours 14th -18th February - Mackay Campus.
  2. Second Residential - 2011 commencing 0900 hours 27th June - 3rd July - Mackay Campus.
Practicum/Work placement A total of 1082 hours clinical midwifery practice over the 18 months.
