ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

 

Applicants must be registered nurses or/ registered midwives seeking to update their knowledge and skills or/ midwives seeking to re register as a midwife.

 

Please note that a university qualification is not required for entry into this program.

 

 

CLINICAL PRACTICUM

 

Upon enrolment all students must indicate two preferred Maternity units where they wish to undertake clinical practicum by emailing the Program Coordinator at d.hay@cqu.edu.au with cc to the Midwife Link Academic at a.eaton@cqu.edu.au.

 

 

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

 

Registered Nurses; Midwives either returning to update their practice or registration need to submit the following documentation to the Program Coordinator when seeking Credit Transfer ‘exemptions' into the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery.

  1. Curriculum vitae
  2. Certified copies of previous education or training certificates
  3. Copies if current or previous registration practicing certificate

Recognition of prior learning will only be granted where a student is able to demonstrate that tertiary study equivalent in content and depth to the CQUniversity program has been successfully completed.  Students should examine the course synopses in the CQUniversity handbook to determine the courses from which they may be able to claim exemption.  For more information about credit transfer contact the Program Director d.hay@cqu.edu.au or phone +61 7 4930 9703.

COMPUTING REQUIREMENTS

 

It is a requirement of enrolment in this program that all students have access to the CQUniversity website via the Internet.  Students may be required to undertake various components of study in the program using email and the Internet.
