Entry requirements
Applicants must be registered nurses, endorsed midwives or midwives seeking re-endorsement.
1. Registered nurses who are seeking to achieve endorsement as a Midwife can study in either the Master of Midwifery or the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery.
2. Endorsed midwives seeking to update their midwifery knowledge and skills or/ wish to seek re endorsement should apply to study in either the Master or the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery.
3. Further clarification regarding entry into the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery can be sought from the program coordinator - d.hay@cqu.edu.au.
Students seeking Credit Transfer ‘exemptions' into the Master of Midwifery Program need to submit a professional portfolio to the Program Director d.hay@cqu.edu.au, or phone 07 4930 9703 in order to ascertain the courses to be undertaken and to establish a study schedule.
Recognition of prior learning
Recognition of prior learning will only be granted where a student is able to demonstrate that tertiary study equivalent in content and depth to the CQUniversity program has been successfully completed. Students should examine the course synopses in the CQUniversity handbook to determine the courses from which they may be able to claim exemption. Scholarships and Grants
There are a range of scholarships and/grants Queensland nurses are eligible to apply for. Please refer to the Australian College of Midwives website.
Computing requirements
It is a requirement of enrolment in this program that all students have access to the CQUniversity website via the Internet. Students may be required to undertake various components of study in the program using email and the Internet.
