Entry requirements
Students should have a mathematical knowledge equal to a passing grade in Queensland Maths B or an interstate or TAFE equivalent. If you do not have this requirement Transition Maths 2 is deemed equivalent to Maths B. You may also need to do Transition Maths 1 before commencing Transition Maths 2. You can contact the CQUniversity Maths Learning Centre to discuss your previous maths history to determine if you need to do both Transition Maths 1 and 2.

Completing your Project based course
ENEG14003 Engineering Project Planning
In line with Faculty Policy for enrolment into Project based courses you will need to follow the process below prior enrolment into the relevant course:-
1. Develop the Project Proposal
2. Obtain an Academic Supervisor for the Project
3. Determine your Project Title
4. Obtain a Pass (or higher) result in the Prerequisite course
Once you have made these arrangements, provide this information to your Program Advisor. Once approved you will be manually enrolled in the relevant course.

2. Advise name of your Academic Supervisor for the Project
3. Provide the name of your Project Title

Course Avalibility
Where fewer than 10 students are enrolled in any course, the Faculty may elect to withdraw the offering of such a low enrolment course, advising students accordingly in writing by email and counsel students to enrol in another course, relevant to their designated program of study.
Where fewer than 10 students are enrolled as 'internal students' in a course, the Faculty may elect to withdraw the offering of such a low enrolment internal class and run this course in external mode only, where this option is available. The faculty will transfer students into external mode enrolment and advise them in writing by email of the change to their enrolment accordingly.
Recommended study schedule
A recommended study schedule for this program can be obtained from the Faculty. Students may determine their own schedule based upon credit transfers and personal study requirements. It is important to note that full-time students usually enrol in 24 units of credit per term and part-time students usually enrol in 12 units of credit per term. Students must successfully complete 24 courses (192 units of credit) in a combination of 6 and 12 units of credit courses.
Engineering practice (industry experience) and report
An integral part of the Bachelor of Engineering program is that each student must gain at least twelve weeks of approved industry experience in an appropriate area of engineering. The student must also submit a report indicating the type of work done, the degree of responsibility involved, the person(s) to whom the student was directly responsible, and the general activities of the employer. This report must be certified as correct by the employer and submitted by the end of the second week of the term following the vacation period of employment. Further information regarding the reporting requirements refer to the ‘Engineering Practice' document. To graduate students must successfully complete and submit their engineering practice report at least six months prior to their nominated 'Expected Graduation Term' (EGT). Failure to meet this deadline may result in a delay to the expected graduation date.
Degrees in engineering with honours
Engineering students will be eligible for honours according to the University’s 'Weighted Grade Point Average' (WGPA) honours calculation rules, except that third class honours will not be awarded, on the following basis:
The WGPA of a student’s results over the first three years of the program (144uc) must be at least 5.00 to be eligible for honours. Failure to meet this WGPA will result in students not being eligible for the award of Honours, regardless of their performance in the required 48uc of engineering course study (as detailed below) for honours calculation.
In all cases for the calculation of WGPA, a student’s result in their first attempt at a course will be incorporated.

Rules for progression into the Bachelor of Engineering (Co-op)/Diploma of Professional Practice (Engineering)
Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering program who meet all the rules for progression in the Bachelor of Engineering (Co-op)/Diploma of Professional Practice (Engineering) programs may be invited to transfer into the Bachelor of Engineering (Co-op)/Diploma of Professional Practice (Engineering) program.
In the event of limited numbers in the remaining unfilled industry placements, only invitations to fill unclaimed placements will be made.
Where the number of students eligible for transfer is greater than the number of remaining unfilled industry placements, invitations to transfer shall be decided by the student's WGPA after completion of the first term in the second year of study.
Articulation and credit transfer
The program allows the recognition of students' appropriate previous study and experience gained from working in industry, through 'Recognition of Prior Learning' (RPL) and 'Recognition of Current Competencies' (RCC). Students will be assessed for credit transfer on a case-by-case basis and will be required to nominate courses they wish to be considered for exemption from. Grounds for that exemption, through students’ demonstration of prior achievement of the CQUniversity courses’ learning outcomes, must be documented and assessed as satisfactory by the Program Committee. Students may only gain credit transfer for up to 50% of the overall program, on a units of credit basis, with a majority of Advanced Level courses studied. We are unable to assess credit transfer until potential students accept an offer to study with the University, however you are welcome to do a self assessment by using our credit transfer kit which can be found at: http://fseh.cqu.edu.au/FCWViewer/getFile.do?id=4742.
Please note that past studies over 10 years are not normally considered unless the applicant can supply certified documents showing that they have been continually using the required skills in the work force. Generally only TAFE diploma level is recognised for credit at tertiary level.
If your previous studies have been undertaken at CQUniversity a copy of your unofficial transcript will be sufficient proof of completion, however, if your studies were undertaken elsewhere you will have to supply a certified copy of your results plus the relevant course synopses for those courses you are claiming exemption.
In the case of recognition of competencies you must provide example of work undertaken, clearly certified by your manager, against each course you believe the competencies cover.
In both cases please do not send original documentation - all evidence should be certified copies only.
Computing requirements
It is a requirement of enrolment in this program that all students have access to the CQUniversity World Wide Web site via the Internet. Students will be required to undertake various components of study in the program using email and online on the Internet.
