CLINCIAL PLACEMENTS 

There are compulsory clincial placements in the following courses:

  • NURS11148 - Health and Human Behaviour (up to 22 days)
  • NURS11114 - Holistic Health Assessment (up to 22 days)
  • NURS12141 - Nursing in a Medical Environment (up to 22 days)
  • NURS12142 - Nursing in a Surgical Environment (up to 22 days)
  • NURS12143 - Family and Community Health (up to 22 days)
  • NURS12145 - Aged Care Nursing (up to 22 days)
  • NURS13112 - Complex Nursing (upt to 24 days)
  • NURS13115 - Professional Practice (up to 40 days)

PRECLINICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR CLINICAL PLACEMENT

Students are required to provide evidence of:

  • Current Blue Card
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate from an organisation recognised by the Australian Resuscitation Council
  • Evidence of Hepatitis B vaccination and titre level

COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS

 

It is a requirment of enrolment in this program that students have access to the CQU website.  Students will be expected to undertake various components of study in the degree using email, WecCT and the Internet.  Recommended web browsers are: Internet Explorer 5.0 or above or Netscape 4.5 or 4.7 and above (not version 6.0).

 

APPLICATION FOR CREDIT TRANSFER

 

Credit transfer will only be granted where a student is able to demonstrate that tertiary studies equivalent in content and depth to the CQU program have been successfully completed.  Students should examine the course synopis in this handbook to determine the courses for which they may be eligible to claim exemption.  Application for credit transfers will assessed on a case-by-case basis once the applicant has been advised by CQU or QTAC of their success in obtaining a place in the Nursing Program. here  

 

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

 

International applicants will be assessed individually and a maximum of two years advanced standing may be granted towards a CQU Bachelor of Nursing award.

 

NOTE: International students are required to attend Orientation Week prior to commencement of Term 1.

 

Further, the only acceptable English qualification will be the IELTS test, and no other equivalency of English proficiency will be accepted for this program, for all levels of entry.  All international graduates must have an IELTS of 7 to obtain registration with the Queensland Nursing Council.
