Entry requirements
'Undergraduate (Direct) Entry' after Year 1 of BHMSc (or equivalent from other tertiary institutions). Entry is by written application and based on:
- GPA of no less than 4.0 from Year 1 of BHMSc (or equivalent from other tertiary institutions);
- no Year 1 courses (or equivalent from other institutions) with a grade of less than P (Pass);
- interview based on CQU graduate attributes (students will be advised of these prior to interview and show evidence of these at interview);
- expert panel (Industry leaders, Co-op Manager, Head of School, BHMSc Program Coordinator) judgement as to suitability of candidate for industry placement as an ambassador of both the School of HHP and CQU;
- written references from previous employers, community leaders or industry-relevant bodies (e.g. sporting bodies); and
- the number of available placement positions. The number of BHMSc (Co-op) places available will be limited to 30 in each of the Years 2 and 3 of the program, but may be less subject to placement availability.
Students not covered by the above criteria will be done on a case-by-case merit based interview with the Program Director.
Program rules

Entry to the BHMSc (Ind Co-op) program is through direct application after completion of either the first year (8 core courses) of BHMSc (or equivalent if from other tertiary institutions) in either external off-campus mode or internal mode at either Rockhampton or Bundaberg campuses or a combination of the two modes.

The BHMSc (Ind Co-op) program is only offered in internal mode at the Rockhampton campus.

The program must be completed in the structure above. In exceptional circumstances, alterations to the structure will be allowed after discussion and approval by the Program Coordinator.

Failure of any core or elective course within the BHMSc (Ind Co-op) will mean a forced withdrawal from the BHMSc (Ind Co-op) program to the BHMSc program.
Note: students may exit the BHMSc (Ind Co-op) program to continue and complete the standard BHMSc program.

Computing requirements
It is a requirement of enrolment in this program that students have access to the CQU website. Students will be expected to undertake various components of study in the degree using email, Blackboard and the Internet. Recommended web browsers are: Internet Explorer 5.0 or above or Netscape 4.5 or 4.7 and above (not version 6.0).
Application for credit transfer
Credit transfer will only be granted where a student is able to demonstrate that tertiary studies, equivalent in content and depth to the CQU program, have been successfully completed. Students should examine the course synopses in this handbook to determine the courses for which they may be eligible to claim exemption.
