About Communication

Imagine writing speeches for a politician, or reporting the latest news on television. Communication is a large field and expertise can take you anywhere.

Learn the fundamentals of effective communication through a variety of specialisations. Explore the field of journalism and learn the ethics of the media, television and radio news production, editing, design, and newspaper layout. Professional communication covers speech writing, desktop publishing and public relations, while film studies provides students with the opportunity to analyse and explore the cultural, social, and industrial contexts within films. The multimedia specialisation focuses on web design and development, and digital production techniques associated with music and films. Visual media studies include photomedia and graphic design, with a focus on the practical aspects of image-based communication techniques.

No new enrolments are being taken in this program of study - the program is now a part of the 'Core Studies Plan' in CA10 Bachelor of Arts (Specialisation).
