Program Aim
This is a double degree for students wishing to enter the profession of health and physical education teaching with specialisation in secondary education (See the CQU Glossary for definition of a double degree, available from http://www.cqu.edu.au/glossary). It provides students with the opportunity to develop as professional teachers through a comprehensive teaching program and extensive practical experience in schools and the community. This program enables pre-service teachers to prepare themselves to teach a range of secondary education curriculum areas including:
- Health to Year 12;
- Physical Education to Year 12;
- one other teaching area to Year 12.
Curriculum areas are offered depending on availability of curriculum studies in the appropriate discipline area and the availability of pedagogical studies in the Learning Management degree.
Graduates are eligible to apply for teaching positions with employers including Education Queensland, Catholic Education and independent schools.
Program Structure
Students must complete 38 courses/228 units of credit.
Students will receive information on the completion of the Bachelor of Learning Management component of this program.
