The Bachelor of Sciences (Chemical Sciences)/Bachelor of Information Technology is a double degree, which provides students with training to become both professional chemists and computing specialists.  Further details of the individual courses can be found in the Bachelor of Information Technology (CQ18) and Bachelor of Science (CU18) descriptions in this Handbook. A student can compose an individual study program through consultation with the academic advisors for the program.  All programs must satisfy the core courses and prerequisite course requirements.

To satisfy the requirements of the award, students must complete 36 courses/216 units of credit as outlined below.

Recommended study schedules for this program can be obtained from your program administrator.  Students may determine their own schedules based upon credit transfers and personal study requirements.  It is important to note that full time students usually enrol in 4 courses or 24 units of credit per term and part time students usually enrol in 2 courses per term or 12 units of credit per term.

Full-time students should aim to complete 5 courses (30 units of credit) per term.  Part-time students should aim to complete 2-3 courses (12-18 units of credit) per term.

Students complete:

• 28 compulsory courses;
• 4 Information Technology electives (at least 2 of which must be Advanced IT Electives); and
• plus 4 elective courses from any undergraduate degree program.
