Program Aim
The Bachelor of Accounting/Diploma of Professional Practice program will provide students with the opportunity to undertake a nationally recognised and accredited program of study in accounting and financial services. Integrated into this program is the Diploma of Professional Practice program, which provides students with up to 12 months of paid, full-time work experience in the financial services industry as an integral component of their program experience.
The work placement component of the program is not only designed to provide students with experience in their chosen profession, but comprises an essential part of the program in developing students' professional skills and standards in a real world environment.
Students considering enrolling in the program should be aware that the work placement component of the program involves 2 full-time work placements, each of approximately six months duration. Students will need to consider these work placements in planning their studies and other commitments during their enrolment in the program.
Program Structure
Students must complete a program of 25 courses which comply with the accounting program detailed below:
- 8 compulsory courses;
- 10 accounting technical specialist courses;
- 5 professional practice courses; and
- 2 elective courses.
