Program Aim
The Master of Learning Management (Science Education) will provide students with:
- academic preparation for professional practice and leadership in the field of science education;
- opportunities to extend professional expertise and interests in science education;
- opportunities to develop science teaching pedagogical content knowledge suited to personal teaching needs;
- understandings of student alternative conceptions that hinder science learning and problem solving;
- opportunities to explore modern learning theories that are relevant to science teaching and learning; and
- completion of the first phase of the learning journey in which content knowledge, pedagogy and metacognitive reflection enables the teacher to teach new and interesting science topics and acquire the necessary skills to plan, implement and evaluate new personal teaching programs.
Please note: this program has been withdrawn. No new enrolments will be accepted for 2007.
Program Structure
Students will need to complete 6 courses at 8 units of credit each to equal 48 units of credit in total.
