Computing requirements

You will need access to a computer for your studies.  Regular access to the Internet, email and a Microsoft Windows computer is required.

Industry placement

Students must undertake an industry placement. The normal duration of the placement is six months.  The minimum placement duration is four months, but it is expected that placements shorter than six months will be exception cases. Students may need to travel to, and arrange appropriate accommodation in, the location of the placement.

Transitional agreements

Existing students may graduate under pre-2006 rules.  Transitional arrangements are as follows:

  • the new Advanced IT Electives are available as Advanced IT Courses to existing students:

    • Systems Integration

    • Internet Application Development

  • students may not study COIT11223 Workplace Issues if they have passed COIT13132 Professional Issues
