This double degree program prepares graduates for the exciting world of e-Commerce, by taking students through the technical studies required for both the electronic and the commerce aspects. (See the CQU Glossary for definition of a double degree, available from http://www.cqu.edu.au/glossary.) Traditional accounting and finance studies are integrated with an understanding of the conduct of commerce in a global economy serviced by information technology, preparing accounting graduates for cutting-edge positions in developing or auditing of financial and other performance management systems. At the same time, graduates are qualified in the technical aspects of these developments. This enables graduates to choose a career which focuses on the accounting and financial management of an organisation, or the technical development of systems, well informed by the uses made of those systems.

Students should consider the following points in selecting courses to be studied in a particular year, enabling them to structure their study program so prerequisite courses are completed prior to subsequent advanced level courses:

• full-time students usually study a maximum of 4 courses per term;
• part-time students usually study a maximum of 2 courses per term;
• refer to the table of course availability for detailed information about term offered, internal and distance availablity and prerequisities.

The Faculty's undergraduate courses have some emphasis on developing the student's competencies and practical knowledge of the business applications of computing.

Internal students will spend time in the Faculty's computer facilities as part of their regular classes and distance students will need to ensure, when undertaking certain courses of study, they have a high level of access to adequate computer facilities.
