Program Aim
Entry
This program is available to students who have a degree from a recognized higher education institution, and who have achieved a grade point average of at least 5.
Students wishing to specialise in the History or Welfare Studies stream must have previously completed relevant undergraduate study, or equivalent in these areas.

Program Structure
To satisfy the requirements of the award, students must complete 48 units of credit, comprising four coursework courses (24 units of credit), plus a dissertation (24 units of credit).
The assessment of each coursework course is based on 5 000 words. The length of the dissertation will be 15 000 to 20 000 words.
The MLitt is available in the following areas: film studies, history, literature, creative writing, literary & cultural studies, welfare studies, liberal studies, media studies, visual culture.
If you are completing the MLitt in two years you will study two coursework courses in each term in the first year, and in the following year the dissertation, as follows:
- Coursework A & Coursework B in Term 1 Year 1
- Coursework C & Coursework D in Term 2 Year 1
- Dissertation A in Term 1 Year 2
- Dissertation B in Term 2 Year 2
If you are completing in three years you will study one coursework course in each term in the first year and second year, and in the last year the dissertation, as follows:
- Coursework A in Term 1 Year 1
- Coursework B in Term 2 Year 1
- Coursework C in Term 1 Year 2
- Coursework D in Term 2 Year 2
- Dissertation A in Term 1 Year 3
- Dissertation B in Term 2 Year 3
