About Maintenance Management
The Maintenance Management program aims to produce graduates who understand different maintenance philosophies, strategies and work processes, have a practical knowledge of the latest maintenance management tools, and are able to contribute positively to the management of maintenance in Australian industry.
Central Queensland University offers a quality distance education program in maintenance management leading to the qualifications of Graduate Certificate in Maintenance Management, Graduate Diploma of Maintenance Management and Master of Maintenance Management. The courses are specifically aimed at the professional upgrading of persons currently employed in the field of maintenance management.
The development of these courses has been in response to a strong and clearly-voiced demand from industry. In Central Queensland alone maintenance of plant and equipment involves a workforce numbering in the thousands and an annual expenditure conservatively in excess of $500 million.
These programs were designed and developed in close cooperation with industry. A Maintenance Engineering Course Advisory Committee was established to oversee the development of the courses. This Committee consists of senior engineers from BHP Australia Coal, Queensland Alumina, Boyne Smelters and Queensland Cement. The Committee has been, and continues to be involved in all aspects of program development including identification of learning objectives and outcomes, content validation, assessment issues and matters related to the design and delivery of each course unit.
