Program Aim
The Bachelor of Health (Nursing - Post Registration) is designed to provide an undergraduate degree opportunity for registered nurses who hold a diploma or hospital based certificate in nursing or their equivalent. It is appropriate for nurses who seek a generic scholarly-inquiry oriented focus in didactic and clinical education.
The program will help meet educational needs, related to health care in the state, nationally and internationally. It is intended to provide the student with academic parity with other tertiary education health professionals. The intention of the program is to enable graduates to further develop as practitioners, promoters of health and critical thinkers with greater awareness of the role and benefits of research.
The Bachelor of Health (Nursing - Post Registration) is open to both registered nurses who hold a diploma in nursing from a college or university and to registered nurses who hold a nursing certificate from a hospital based program within their own country. All applicants must hold a current general nurse registration certificate, which indicates their authority to practice as a registered nurse in their own country.
Nurses who have completed the Queensland Nursing Council Competence Assessment Service Program should consider this program to further enhance their nursing knowledge and skills.
