Employment opportunities exist in government health departments, major non-government organisations (eg Diabetes Australia, Royal Flying Doctors, Lifeline, Family Planning, anti cancer foundations), private industry (eg medical insurance companies, corporate health companies, and health promotion consultants), overseas aid agencies (eg Oxfam, AusAID), universities, health related peak bodies, professional associations and international agencies (eg Greenpeace, United Nations).

About Health Promotion and Education

Are you interested in health and physical activity? Are you looking for an exciting career?

CQU’s health and recreation studies enables you to learn more about sport and exercise science, human fitness, family and community health, lifestyle management, occupational health and safety and personal health. Core studies provide a comprehensive understanding of health and the factors that influence it.

Students explore health education goals, concepts and principles in their studies and develop skills and knowledge in areas such as human anatomy and physiology, nutrition, fitness, cross-cultural health care and human behavior.  Public relations practices, effective communication techniques and media management is also part of this program.
